Untitled Valley of Fear

2016 · c. 12′
for 3 object operators, performative electronics & fixed audiovisual media

Programme note

"However great your reach, whatever you touch, shall touch flesh."

Austin Osman Spare

"Wasn't it a surprise when we found his picture in the papers! In the end he went away to an unknown destination. Goods vans occupy the centre of a town. They are the dead leaves of the market-place."

André Breton & Philippe Soupault

Untitled Valley of Fear is the second of a triptych of new pieces for object performers, live electronics, tape and video that explore the lives and works of three famous London-based visionaries: William Blake (1757-1827), Austin Osman Spare (1886 - 1956) and Nicholas Hawksmoor (1661 - 1736).

Recorded at Centralstation on 7th August 2016 as part of the 48th International Summer Course for New Music, Darmstadt
